The consequence of accepting the infallibility of the prophets is the validity of their words, actions and affirmations. The Prophet of Islam (PBUH) has complete infallibility with definite proofs, but some make doubts on his infallibility by citing the appearances of some verses of the Qur’an. This article aims to analyze the responses of Qazi Azod al-Iji in the book "Al-Mawaqif" and Allamah Tabatabai in the Tafsir "Al-Mizan" with a descriptive-analytical method and with the aim of examining two approaches in responding to the verses denying the infallibility of the Prophet of Islam (PBUH). The findings show that the difference in approach of the two scholars is related to the difference of their theological basis; because Qazi Azod al-Iji answers to the doubts on infallibility as an Ash'ari Sunni theologian and Allamah Tabatabai as an exegete of the Qur'an and a Twelver Shia philosopher. but despite this difference, both of them, by accepting the infallibility of the Prophet of Islam (PBUH), believe that by examining the occasions of the revelation and referring the obscure clauses to the obvious ones, and relying on theological foundations and careful consideration in the thematic verses, it will be proved that the alleged doubts are caused by superficial understanding of the verses and can be removed.
